2024 Summer Member & Volunteer Appreciation Barbeque August 17th

Attention all Optimist Members, Volunteers, and Invited Guests!

Join us for an afternoon and evening of fun, great food, and a chance to socialize with other Optimist members, their partners, volunteers, and other guests on Saturday, August 17th, 2024.

Location:   At the home of Ivy (Asta) and Tony Wong

Address:  Bearspaw Community (north off Highway 1A 8 minutes west from Stony Trail) – address and map to be emailed out to members in advance

Cost:    FREE to Optimist members, their spouses/partners, and guests

Dress Code:   Casual

Schedule of Events:   3:30 PM – Backyard Games, 4:30 PM – Happy Hour, 5:30 PM – Dinner, 7:00 PM – Socializing and relaxing around the firepit (if allowed)

• games available in their backyard include minigolf, pickleball, and tennis (bring your racket or a club).  Cornhole will also be available to play

What will be provided:  barbequed chicken skewers; paper plates, plastic cutlery, drinking glasses, and napkins

What you need to bring:

• Other meat to BBQ if you wish. A barbecue will be available.
• Your alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage
• Glass wine or drinking glasses if you wish
• A ready-to-serve appetizer, salad, or dessert with serving utensil (allergy alert: please no peas, beans, or nuts).
• A lawn chair to sit in the backyard, sunglasses
