DESCRIPTION:Calling All Junior Golfers—Your First Big Swing Awaits!       \nIs your child between the ages of 5 and 10 and just starting to learn the art of golf?  Then mark your calendar for the 2026 Optimist Introduction to Tournament Golf—an unforgettable 9-hole adventure happening on Monday\, July 20th\, 2026\, at the beautiful Collicut Siding Golf Course\, just north of Airdrie near Crossfield\, Alberta! \n🌟 Sponsored by the Optimist Clubs of Southern Alberta\, this fun-filled tournament is designed especially for young beginners ready to tee up and take their very first swing into competitive golf—building confidence\, sportsmanship\, and excitement on a professional course! \n🎉 Whether your child dreams of birdies or is just learning the difference between a putter and a wedge\, this event is the perfect way to experience the thrill of tournament play in a supportive and celebratory setting.  Let’s launch a love of golf that lasts a lifetime! 🏆 \n“Fore” the fun—see you on the fairway! \nTHE DETAILS \nContestants can have a family member as their caddie and/or coach.  They will walk the course using pull golf carts and play from the forward tees using winter rules. \nBOY AND GIRL AGE DIVISIONS:   \nEach Division will be established with approximately the same number of contestants based on age and sex.
