The Optimist Club of Calgary is committed to supporting programming that encourages the development of youth in the City of Calgary and surrounding area.
Donations from our Club will be focused on youth development activities in the following areas:
Education – e.g., school programming related to skills development, scholarships, the fine arts, public speaking and essay writing.
Health – e.g., mental and physical health, obesity, addictions and bullying
Community – e.g., community programming related to skills development, picnics, and family days
IMPORTANT: Please review before completing a request form.
All parties requesting financial support must complete a Charitable Donation Request form. The completed form should fully explain the nature of the contribution being sought and include all requested information and documentation.
Requests should be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event to give proper time to evaluate the request.
Requests should include a description of the organization, its mission, and major accomplishments.
Incomplete proposals or those with deadlines within 30 days of submission may not be considered.
It is understood that all requests for funding are done on a one-time basis
Donation requests need to be received by November 30th of the current year.
Donations will be paid out starting March 1st of the following calendar year, and a minimum of 30 days in advance of the intended use.
An accountability report detailing how the funds were used must be provided to the Optimist Club of Calgary within 30 days of using the funds. Failure to submit a report may make your organization ineligible for future donations.
