Here’s your chance to show your support for young, aspiring students! Join us for the Optimist Club of Calgary’s 2024 Oratorical Scholarship Contest Competition on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 from 1 PM to 4 PM. Optimists, family, friends, teachers, fellow students, and the general public are welcome to join us and watch the competition. It is free.
Location: Room 3-16B, Main Central Library (Downtown) – 800 3 St SE, Calgary, Alberta
Ten under 18 participants who have already pre-registered will research, write, and present a four-to-five-minute speech on the topic “How to Change the World With Optimism.”
The top two winners from this contest will then be invited to compete at the 2024 Alberta Regional Optimist Oratorical Contest which will be held sometime in April 2024.
Paid parking is available in the City Hall parkade, parking lots on the east side of the Library, and street parking in the East Village. Attendees could also take the C-Train and get off at the City Hall Station (it is a 1 block walk to the library).
