Guest Speaker: Bahareh Zare Bahari
Discussion Topic: Our guest speaker is a former Iranian beauty queen who competed in the 2018 Miss InterContinental Beauty Pageant in Manila, Philippines. When she spoke out about the treatment of women in her home country, the Iranian Government threatened to execute her if she ever returned. She spent two weeks living in the Manila airport hoping to find another country that would take her before being sent back to Iran. During our meeting, she will share what happened to her and how she wound up in Canada.
Her emotional story is about survival, determination, resistance, and inspiration. One you won’t want to miss hearing!
